MENOPAUSE CONSULTATIONS

Burwood Health offers Menopause consultations to help you better understand the changes your body is undertaking and help you navigate Menopause.

PRE-APPOINTMENT QUESTIONNAIRE

To help your doctor best understand your Menopause symptoms and how it is currently affecting your lifestyle, you will be required to complete a questionnaire with some general information prior to your appointment.  This questionnaire is an important part of your appointment.  Please see the questionnaire link at the bottom of this page.

Prior to your appointment, you will be contacted by a nurse to arrange a blood test

** Blood test are required to be completed at least 48 hours prior to your Menopause Consultation **

INITIAL CONSULTATION

The initial consultation for Menopause include an appointment up to 30 minutes with a doctor as well as a 30 minute appointment with the practice’s Health Coach.

These appointments can be either in-person or as a phone consultation.

During the appointment, your Doctor will go through the following information with you:

  • Relevant medical and family history
  • Your symptoms and what is happening for you
  • Results of your recent blood tests
  • How is Menopause affecting your lifestyle

This information is an important starting point to help you and your GP work towards finding solutions that are appropriate to you.

This may include Menopause hormonal therapy, non-hormonal treatments and lifestyle advice.

During your appointment, the Doctor may suggest changes to any current treatment plans you have discussed and started with your enrolled GP.  This is not uncommon and can be important in helping you manage your Menopause journey.

HEALTH COACH AND MENOPAUSE

Burwood Health offers appointments with our Health Coach, Lauren, to discuss lifestyle advice to you during your Menopause journey.

Health Coach appointments are for 30 minutes and are a part of your initial consultation.  However, subsequent appointments with the practice’s Health Coach are available and these can be booked through our reception team, or via your Manage My Health app.

FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS

We would generally encourage a follow up appointment one or three months after your initial consultation, depending on your risks.  This appointment is a good time to discuss how you are finding your current treatment plan and to make any adjustments and changes as required.

Follow-up appointments are offered as a phone or in-person consultation and are 15 minutes long.

We can offer a follow up consult earlier than 3 months if required.
