Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a condition that covers a range of respiratory illnesses including emphysema, chronic bronchitis and long-standing asthma.
COPD currently affects at least 15% of adults aged over 45 years in New Zealand.
Symptoms of COPD can include:
* Coughing
* Increased mucus
* Breathlessness
* Chest infections
